Spring

Early spring, April

Blue woodland anemone,
“blåsippa”

This is my favorite spring flower, because it’s the first wildflower to come up,
in April, before the grass even turns green.
Crocuses usually pop up in yards and flowerbeds before the anemones appear in the woods.

The garden equivalent,
Siberian scilla (or squill)
“scilla”

Yet another example of my belief that the more beautiful a flower is, the uglier its name is. Squill, ugh!

Forget-me-nots

Okay, yeah, I know:
what’s so great about
dandelions?
    Well, I happen to think
these shots turned out
pretty neat.
